It used to be that Erosion Control on a construction site consisted of shoveling the mud that ran off the site and into the road or neighbors’ property. With changes in expectations, ordinances and procedures, things are very different today. Runoff from new commercial sites is now filtered and detained before it enters the public storm drainage system, streams and rivers. Impurities suspended in the runoff from roofs and parking lots are filtered in bio retention ponds, sand filters (above or below ground) or wetlands ponds. S.C. Hondros & Associates, Inc. has built all of these types of water quality systems. Our in-house civil design team, under the direction of Al Broome, PE, can study the alternatives and design the appropriate system for your project.
