Shaw Industries Regional Distribution Center

Shaw Industries Group, Inc. contracted with S.C. Hondros & Associates, Inc. for the design and construction of the renovation to its 112,394 SF existing facility.  The project modified the existing building and site into one of thirty regional distribution centers for Shaw Industries’ floor covering division. Concrete wall panels and foundations, concrete floor, and exterior concrete paving were removed to facilitate the construction for and installation of twelve new loading docks. New concrete paving, asphalt paving, and stone paving were placed to support increased truck traffic. Two new will-call drive-in doors were installed to serve flooring contractors. The eighteen-acre site was redeveloped to comply with the City of Charlotte’s Post Construction Controls Ordinance for Storm Water.
